Compliance Assurance Partner

Reporting to an Assurance Lead within the Compliance function, this role suits a professional specialist with broad experience in risk management, internal audit or related areas. It calls for a solid ability to identify and manage risks, develop and implement effective controls, and translate strategy into practical action. Strong written and oral communication skills, together with an aptitude for strategic thinking and operational implementation, are essential to succeed in this position.

Accountabilities:  

  • Lead and execute 2nd line monitoring activities in line with the annual compliance assurance plan, challenging existing practices and asking where risks may emerge next.  

  • Support the development and implementation of corrective actions arising from monitoring outcomes, ensuring issues are remediated and lessons are embedded.  

  • Implement and maintain an effective compliance program across MCs, aligned with global and regional plans, covering monitoring, auditing, investigations and assurance reporting.  

  • Help drive and embed a culture of ethics and integrity, promoting transparent decision-making and responsible behaviour.  

  • Support assurance activities across LatAm markets, collaborating closely with local and regional stakeholders.  

  • Build and maintain professional, effective collaboration with Business Partners to ensure a high level of assurance is provided to MCs and the Audit Committee.  

  • Manage, document and report all monitoring activities in a clear, timely and consistent way.  

  • Conduct compliance investigations and manage incidents, including monitoring-related and self-reported cases in AZEthics.  

  • Support the global investigations team on significant or complex investigations, contributing insight and robust analysis.  

  • Deliver all required assurance reports on time, highlighting key findings, trends and recommendations.  

  • Participate in LCC meetings to share findings from assurance work and influence risk-based decisions.  

  • Ensure prompt communication of all potential investigations to Area Assurance Leads so that the correct path of action is identified quickly.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified professional - compliance, law, audit (internal or external), internal controls, risk advisory services, etc.  

  • Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industries  

  • Spanish (desirable) and english (required)  

  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills  

  • Strong collaborative, partnering, and interpersonal skills  

  • Strong understanding of processes and controls  

  • Deep business understanding  

  • Strong ability to work independently  

  • High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion  

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable management skills and experience  

  • Knowledge and experience of corporate governance, health care regulations, laws and standards  

  • Data and analytics  

  • Advanced user of Microsoft 365
